ultimatum

SpiritanToxic vs Alpha Bravo Crap Delta Experience-it gets problematic when these 2 now or nevers meet

whatever duh.with all the hype long gone it's now back to the work.memories last for a moment, but legacy lives forever.I love term 2.It's the maddest time ever when students wouldn't mind going crazy.with common commons coming up,it's more and more makeups and additions

I'm a super nut for Brit Rock.looks like I'm going to end off that abruptly with this piece.

There By The Grace of God-Manic Street Preachers(All Rights reserved to the Manics,letssingit.com for the lyrics and the memory of Richard 'Richey James' Edwards for 11 years running)

And all the drugs in the world
Can't save us from ourselves
Victims with the saddest hearts
Passing by the grace of God
There by the grace of God

With grace we will suffer
With grace we shall recover
There by the grace of God
There by the grace of God

Lay down all your guns
Give them up and then move on
It doesn't mean that you are dead
Passing by the grace of God
There by the grace of God

With grace we will suffer
With grace we shall recover
There by the grace of God
There by the grace of God
With grace we will suffer
With grace we shall recover
There by the grace of God
There by the grace of God
There by the grace of God

And all the drugs in the world

With grace we will suffer
With grace we shall recover
There by the grace of God
There by the grace of God
With grace we will suffer
With grace we shall recover
There by the grace of God
There by the grace of God

And all the drugs in the world
Can't save us from ourselves
Victims with the saddest hearts
Passing by the grace of God
There by the grace of God

(the following is taken from the missing National Missing Persons Helpline of the UK...Manics ever)

Age at disappearance: 27 (would have been 38 by now)

Richard Edwards aka Richey James, former rhythm guitarist for the Manic Street Preachers. Richard went missing on the 1st Feb 1995, from the Embassy Hotel, in London just before he was due to fly to New York.

Richard was last seen in London on the 1st Feb 1995. Richard had a flat in Cardiff and it seems that he went there briefly on the day he disappeared. Two weeks later Richard's car was found abandoned at the Severn Bridge Service station near Aust.

Apparently a caring, sensitive and talented young man, Richard left a behind a close family who still hope he will come home one day. Despite spurious sightings of Richey from all over the country and abroad, there has never been any confirmed information about Richard's whereabouts.

Richard is 5ft 8ins tall and very thin. He had very short brown hair when he was last seen and has dark brown eyes and a pale complexion. Richard has 4 tattoos one of which bears the words "I'll surf this beach".

(added by myself)By grace of God,all the rest have picked up from this traumatic experience and I can't wait for their next album

Victoria Veni Vedi Vici

This is a new style of blogging, sports journalist style...life as a sports journalist is damn tiring, particularly if you have to do minute by minute analysis here.I try to be neutral here, but the following contents might remind you of Middlesboro

(from 4.00 to 8.00,live feed from Jalan Besar Stadium)

Good day mates,I'm now at Jalan Besar watching the B div final, waiting to give you minute-by-minute coverage of the big match against VJ and MJ.Weather conditions have been cruel to the crowd, with the B div final suspended for 30 minutes pending a heavy shower and thunder that rocked the artificial turf at the stadium.By then the giant VJ banners have been put up in place since yesterday after the girls finals, which they duly delivered.

On the big match,MJ and VJ came in as group champions, but their group form starkly contrasts with each other,as VJ has won all 9 matches so far this season while MJ overcame a sloppy start losing 3-2 to SA and winning by a fortunate late goal against AJ.The only thing that works against VJ is the fact that they lost their Final matchup last year in a penalty shootout heartbreak, while MJ has been known to panic when they see large crowds supporting their opponent as seen by the loss to SA(800 plus),while narrowly winning AJ and JJ by 1 goal, even as they went on a goal scoring spree. In a particular match against AC,one player had actually scored all 5 goals in a 5-2 win. VJ has been formidable in the group stage, going bonkers against all 8 group opponents scoring 3 goals each, and as SA found out the hard way they are damn good physically

The initial rain gave way to a nice sunny evening and an ecstatic crowd waiting for the arrival of both teams.the atmosphere was palpable as both teams strive to outbid each other in the cheer department,of which the VJ gang were even louder than expected.MJ is sticking to the 4-4-2 that allows them to play the flair game that they have so excelled against the others, while VJ goes for a 5-3-2 that suits their physical approach, which is more towards counterattacking.Kickoff is at 5.30 and here's your match commentator Robert Joseph Anderson and The AJ team

1:START.Meridian looks to use their relative advantage in the midfield department to put pressure on the VJ defence
4:a freekick for Vj is given following a foul near 20m.a stinging low shot was parried away by the MJ goalie, which resulted in a corner.a whiplash corner found the head of a VJ player, who headed over the bar
5:Free Kick for MJ.MJ's no 35 nearly heads in the free kick before the VJ goalie barely saved the dipping shot
6:a nice chance fluffed as VJ heads past the line
12:VJ attack falls through, allowing MJ to threaten the VJ defence for a moment
13:VJ corner hits oncoming VJ player, who misses point blank.Concerted pressure leads MJ to foul yet again, for which a freekick was given
14:the menacing freekick floats past the wall, but MJ keeper managaed to hold on to the ball, safely
15:VJ's no 7 fantastic smash was saved by MJ,of which the goalie gripped tight enough to repel another attack
16:an attack went offline as they concede a goal kick to MJ
19:MJ's no 33 starts raiding the VJ side before VJ hacked him down in advance.freekick was headed wide by 35 before Vj keeper made a snug catch
22:MJ's 33 gets ruled offside in a blistering run
23:miscleared pass allows MJ 33 to run and shoot wide
25:VJ no 10 hoofs the ball up the bar and concedes a goal kick
26:I thought they were cheering because of a substitution, but it turned out that the 5 goal man has scored a goal,1-0 to MJ
27:VJ freekick meets another dude and heads wide as they use their first substitute
32:MJ corner headed to safety and counterattack leads to nothing
35:MJ heads wide
37:VJ nearly scores from a kick
38:MJ 33 took advantage of a sloppy clearance, defence alert enough to neutralise the attack
39:a miskick led no 33 to exploit.again another chance gone
40:bad clearance led to MJ 33 taking advantage, but his dazzling footwork show was cut short as the defence came to the rescue
40+1:VJ long shot went wide
40+2:VJ couldn't exploit a meelee at MJ's goalmouth as they scramble for a goal
HT:Score 1-0 MJ as the teams go for a breather

40:2nd half on the way.VJ look sharper than they did in the first half.
41:a nasty 'foul' on MJ was ignored by the ref
42:The MJ goalie tipped the ball off, just in time
43:a freekick from MJ nearly threatens VJ's title hopes, but it was cleared out
44:VJ use up another substitute
45:VJ smasher gets saved, without being called for offside
46:an attempt to cross the ball by VJ goes off the line.corner given to MJ which they succeeded in heading out,but still in their area
47:another freekick heads wide, one of the multiple occurences of VJ's somewhat misfiring headers
48:GOAL!a deflected shot by VJ from a looping cross could only hit a finger of the MJ goalie's hands before sailing into the goal mouth to make it 1-1!
50:MJ 33 tries to score, but gets blocked out again by the physically intimidating VJ defenders,a later counterattack gets snuffed out by MJ's defence,as another flying cross goes wide
52:free kick given for VJ,of which the goalie manages to save it before it gets troublesome
54:a mispass meant MJ 35 couldn't reach the ball on time
56:MJ 35's super shot gets blocked by the keeper
68:VJ's 30 m shot gets blocked while another 20m shot that followed went into the goalie's hands
60:GOAL!!MJ's 33 and 35 link up in a blistering attack that caught VJ's defence off guard. It was spectacular seeing MJ's 35 waltzing past 5 VJ defenders before rounding up the keeper one on one and smashes an unstoppable low shot into an empty net!2-1!
61:VJ has a chance to come back into the game, but it went straight out
62:another long shot by VJ left high up as VJ are looking for the goals to send them to extra time
63:another VJ shot saved by a goalie, who cuddles the ball to safety
64:a freekick for VJ and no card for MJ 35,which floats past the wall but not the goalie, who had a hand in pushing it out.corner given
65:PENALTY.a VJ corner gets underway into the area, and suddenly the referee was blowing his whistle and by then it had occured that MJ no 2 has handled the ball and denied VJ an obvious goalscoring opportunity.after protests from the MJ players, the ref shows a direct red card and MJ have to play with 1 man short in their defence plus dealing with the resultant penalty. The goalie saves the goal,in the nick of time
67:V5 gets booked for a foul on an MJ player
70:another freekick for VJ headed wide
71:flying pass to MJ 33 gets to VJ goalie first
72:with MJ 35 alone in the area, the goalie was forced to charge out with a sliding tackle to save the ball.counterattacksa put the pressure on MJ's
defence as 2 players feel the heat and writhed down on the floor, one after another.meanwhile VJ uses up their last substitution in preparation for extra time, something which they had bad memories of last year
73:as MJ uses up their subs too,VJ crowd gets high, and the atmosphere was palpable as the crowd were imploring their team to score.a failed attack by MJ leads to a counterattack by VJ,which is also neutered by the increasingly stressed up defence
78:GOAL!VJ pressure bore fruit as a fine run by a VJ player surrounds the goalie and left him stranded to equalise at 2-2,with the MJ defence rendered ineffective by the somewhat scrappy but dummy play of the VJ players, who then proceeded to score from a very narrow angle
79:GOAL!a corner for VJ found the last man up,who jumps high to head the corner home.3-2 and the VJ crowd are more and more ecstatic,as we go into injury time
80+1:MJ 18 smacks a cross and VJ goalie adequately saves it
80+2:a carnival atmosphere at VJ's side as they start celebrating their win.cheer goes louder and louder as MJ gets awarded a freekick.MJ has this last chance left, but MJ's 35 fails to squeeze in.by then the tired MJ players couldn't do much with their corner
80+3:GOAL!VJ clears out for a counter attack.whatever notion that VJ is going to get the foot off the engine is quashed as a VJ player gets the ball and goes on a run from half field before twirling around the helpless keeper who by then could only watch helplessly as VJ scores from a simple tap-in and make the score 4-2,thereby completing a comeback that ultimately cost MJ their title they won last year .a last ditch attempt by a defender to slide-tackle the VJ player ended in crashing his own goalie before the VJ player shoots into an empty net
80+4:END With the last kick of the game,VJ wrapped up proceedings with a 4-2 comeback against MJ within 5 minutes

The final whistle sparked off wild celebrations among the Victorian faithful, almost delirious.by then they have banished memories of that shock defeat last year and at the VJ side there's a carnival mood while the MJ side sat gloomily in silence as the awards ceremony was on.later from VJ insiders the principal has made a split second decision to grant VJ a holiday,1 day after the match...as for MJ,they kinda conceded it,and then wondered how VJ ever looked like Boro when they should have been able to defend their lead

This has been a special report by Mr Joseph Anderson right on scene. As we wait for our panel of analysts comprising of the AJC Soccer team, and others, let's relieve the goal-den highlights of the match

Braveheart Anderson-fallen

It's going to feel like crap talking about those party poopers who somehow manage to spoil everyone's celebrations, just ask who's been saboed in the last 3 days

RJC-Waterpolo-1 month back.got back from them a few times, notably softball
NYJC girls-Vball-Wednesday.that was damn taiko, from the quarters onwards
ACJC-netball-yesterday.actually if AC was expecting to do what happened last year,it's abit too much
AJC boys-Basketball-today.same time they're in final, but this time they were lucky and we're bust

actually it was intended to be a tense match before we pressed on the panic button, which perfectly suited those party poopers as they kept on whacking in balls in the last minutes...what turned out to be a keenly competitive game was marred by the many fouls that they made throughout the match.stand aside?it's push aside!

buoyed by the good turnout in volleyball on wednesday, there's a subtly aggressive promotion of this event.once word got out that econs H1 was cancelled, and that students would be let off at 1.45 for the final, most AJCians are in party mode.so much so that the geog and hist department got infected as well.before that match it's RJ who downed VJ by 10 points or so to get their girls title(they dun seem to have much luck with the guys),and the atmosphere was palpable as the remaining RJ people who did not follow their kakis filing out of the stadium were sitting on the HC side, augmenting the 750 HC ppl while a small amount of VJ and NJ supporters take on the other side...which numbered more than 900,plus people from classes which we'd never imagine going for cheer support...heehee

as soon as it seems packed, the game started.for most of the time we're on par with each other, even threatening to bury it,but somehow squeezing in a three pointer and a tumbling Hon Chan meant we're in some sort of trouble.idiots, all for the champs, they were shoving people aside like nobody's business, short of being on a steroid induced rampage.by the time it's all over, most Aj people were more or less crestfallen...

mann...we're the co-covenors and we've to end up with such an ending =( I hope the quality next year would be better and then we will do the double!

oooh...aj boleh...(all the rest)/XXX can go fly kite!

Braveheart Anderson-V-I-C-T-O-R-Y F-O-R-E-V-E-R

It's all over...

AJ 3 TJ 2-We are the volleyball champions!

HC-NY-"Elites vs Heartlanders"

just for kicks me and mingzhu the council elect decided to go there at 1pm,just to soak up the fun.except for the early birds HC girls, there isn't any supporters in the cavernous 2000 seater sports hall.slowly,NY fans trickle in by the bus load, which allegedly was all the J2s plus a few interested J1s.it's damn spectacular to see how NY manages to fill up their quarter while there isn't any HC people save for 4 netballers(whose final is today),3 dudes,2 injured players and no one else.but just as it's the case for HC suppoorters, which would have numbered 200 or so,the NY girls(think Ruoci and Eunice Koh) swaggers in amid much applause. It looks like it's now or never for them as this represents their only title hope.NY has disposed of VJ 3-1 while HC overcame a 2-0 deficit to rise from the dead and send the Saints home

if HC brought the heavy artillery, they kinda have no use when the idiotic MI emcee says the following...Please refrain from using any musical instruments during the match.that sort of bum.you think musical instruments=hooliganism?i'm more hooligan.their not so occupied quarter are also filled by Rafflesians and gradually our men.kash muz haf been well hidden as the HC gals insistently played a patient game of russian roulette with Ruoci and team.It somehow looks like as if the NY heartlanders has came out in full force,as the HC elites from Bt Timah got overstretched.as for the match...it's HC the crisis specialists again.just how the heck they actually win from a 2-2 tie isn't what we expected...thought NY was the more zai team, since HC has 2 short ones(1 unused substitute).it was HC dominating all the odd numbered rounds and NY coming back all the time, and a nail-biting finish was somewhat unexpected

TJ-AJ-"Juve vs Bremen encore"

Now for the match we've been waiting for.it's our area that's pretty much filled up,J2,J1 whatever you want.As for the crowd, they're a stellar bunch, with a bluechip teachers cast comprising of the Principal, the 2 VPs,4 HODs and some of the staff.that's what we least expected actually.A rousing start by our team gave us the first set, which was somewhat biased to our side.we were sending cannonballs that the guys in olive can't figure out what were these.thanks too to our 4 giant banners that the technicolour TJ banner couldn't beat in size.

If the girls game was all about acting tough, the guys match demands more of not putting your foot off the pedal.we did that and were made to pay as TJ took 2 straight sets after this, allegedly copying our style in the first set, especially on the third set where we looked quite out at sea and staring at the silver medals.in fact they were pumping more high balls as usual and we just seemed quite unsure of what to do.It was chun kiat and shengli dominating proceedings as our Bravehearts are unusually silent as the going got somewhat bumpy

Miracles do happen, particularly when you least expect it...we stormed back in the fourth set, thanks to our determination and also because TJ were too distracted with their trophy.with the score 2-2 again, the atmosphere's palpable as both were now on their feet for this decider...playing to 15 for our sake.we didn't quite disappoint as we got back to 8-6 and then it's all rosy from here,up to the time where every AJCian, here or there, were all euphoric after 15-11.It was such a sight, everyone singing their school song, acting like hools,in a jubilant mood...where we got it back after 2003.the trophy itself was prophetic,as our first win at 2001 wasn't followed up by other engravings...haha maybe that was prophetic.to cure our hoarse throats, the soccer guys went to ice cube to eat icecream..but since I'm broke, looks like i'm trying the liquor filled magik potion next time

More News: AC-HC netball finals in progress at press time, and SA doing another surprise win against RJ in the dying minutes of rugby finals

Breaking News: The AJ econs department has granted the econs H1 students early dismissal so they can watch the basketball match.now the heat's on the other departments to do the same thing, given the top brass are also going too.this is done to prevent more desperate measures taken at the expense of productivity

(I can't do the pic now so visualise the following:The AJ crest superimposed on a gold volleyball, and on top of it are 3 gold stars signifying 2001,2003,2006)

This post is dedicated to the AJ Team of 2006:All stars,All heroes

Braveheart Anderson-Victorias y el Corazon Deportivo

It's a glorious week ahead, with basketball in the finals, and a prematch analysis for volleyball finals futile,it's all square for Symphony of Voices 2006,20th anniversary.just that it was Rachie's swansong, and quite a sweet one

well, actually I was slated to lose $21 but Matt came to the rescue with an extra where no one would be quite bothered...frankly speaking,I wanted an $84 treat and then seat at the VIP stalls, but a commandant's tactical view from circle 1 seems nicer anyway.shockingly,it's gladys, wini and 2 more i dunno showing up beside me...and wini seemed pleasantly shocked while gladys found an old fren once again.since she's got SYF for today,at this moment I think she's putting her best in her first and final performance...goodluck! whatever that is SOV is the highlight of the Concert Season. Almost everyone would make a beeline for the limited tickets available, and allegedly they pack the Esplanade

hell yeah!this time the first half is supposedly what they did in Verona, but it seems to me a very dark start, and brisk one...contrast this to the Whitacre monopoly...whereas a melange of different cultures(Jewish,Indonesian,CHinese) becomes passe...instead it's like as if you weren't even in the stratified atmosphere of Esplanade at all.

These 2 are from Luzzasco Luzzaschi
Alma Redemptoris Mater:quiet Gregorian that perfectly complements the march in by each member into stage.it looks like the emcee was going AWOL,so they went autopilot. It's the reflective sort of stuff which makes you want to pray to God
Ad Dominum cum Tribularer:Baroque?the brisk melody makes it seems like it was from another period
Factum est Silentium-Richard Derring:apparently it's about Michangelo and Satan doing a show battle in a somewhat Renaissance piece.actually it wasn't as majestic as expected of such a great victory
Hear my prayer,O Lord-Henry Purcell-that was a ballad.would have been a bit more attractive as the climax itself
The Shower-Edward Elgar:NOT the bathroom,silly.that was a sad piece,rendered in the expansive choir,it's a deadly combo
Ta-no-kusatori-uta-Michio Mamiya-1st of the Japanese trio. The delicate cru classe is quite suitable for this girly song, reminiscent of cranes in flight
Taue-uta-compared to the last one, whatever the high notes has been rendered neutral by the nasal bass that adds to the heft.same composer as the last sone
Ashita wa hare kana, kumori kana-Toru Takemitsu-another certain pattern in Nelson's choirs is the presence of at least a Japanese love song this year.this is more guy centric, but somehow as beautiful as it is,witht the bass as the old mature sound and the young boyish sound with the sops
Confitermini Domino-Alberto Grau-musica sacra moderna...or in spanish, for the convenience of the Venezuelan readers, musica sagrada moderna.Typical conquistador job with all the cut and pastes from Spanish style, varying rhythms and tribal funka,a trance like feel in the middle of this long piece where all the performers go on a trance...not kidding...and finally while all the sensations tease your brain and somehow manages to enthrall without being confused,a LOUD BANG ending jerks you back to reality.¡EXCELENTE!
Binnamma-same dude, same song, different choir.everything varies, and the guys unbuttoning the jackets and the sops trembling chests give a hint of what was to come,as an astonished matt was asking me what's up with the guys.it's a more sharper, more expansive and more crystal clear rendition with well defined rhythms...and the acoustics only play a small part!

Extended break from VJChoir and this is the following...Tu us Petrus is a long way from being chateau petrus from the music world but would suffice,Jerusalem Surge was quite surprising because there weren't a surge at all, surprisingly delicate for such a piece, and Reminiscences of Hainan brings us back to the boisterous villages of rural China, even as I couldn't understand the Hainanese lyrics(I'm Hakka by the way,a even more brusque bunch than the Hainanese)

月亮代表我的心-David Tao by way of Teresa Teng-accapella meets R and B meets Golden oldie?mushy?no...this was a classy rendition of those guys
解脱-A-Mei-a wispy feel from the sop-alto accapella,a stripped bare cover with more grace
Mein Kleiner Gruner Kaktus(auf deutsch. In english their typos aside it's My small green cactus)-Bremen,Bavaria,Berlin,whatever of Germany.not so cute as expected, but since this was without the oompah bands,I'd gladly trade my flagon of helles for something that tastes like a cactus(think Berliner Kindl with woodruff)
I Write the Song-Bruce Johnston-one of the more classy of ballads...absolutely love ballads to bits,a thousand emotions in a song

Rock around the clock-Freedman and de Knight and Bill Haley and the Comets,Jeremy Jackman remix-I realised that, with each passing minute,it looks as if we're less in a choir concert and more in Broadway.looks like you can boogie until 3am before trudging back to school, eyelids drooping.but it ain't an option,so it's getting funny.given that I've got Volleyball finals later,It's quite an apt term to use

Sit Down,You're rocking the boat,Frank Loesser,Grayston Ives remix-same as their December Christmas concert, even more opera with their tenor on tow
Bridge Over Troubled Waters-Paul Simon and Clay Aiken-Clay would have been proud of their beautiful rendition unplugged

Encore 1:(some Indonesian song that you'd have to rapid fire)-no so impact...actually
Encore 2:Pamugun.actually not the same encore as Rachie had told me,just that the screech was unexpected,so was the subtle nuance that sounds like a dove colony descending on the Singapore River outside Esplanade,or Nicoll Highway

By the time I finish my post right now,a massive army of AJCians will be storming Toa Payoh for the match of their lives, and not just the volleyballers. Some people wait a lifetime, for a moment like this,so without further ado,i don't bloody care if none of the J1 debaters are with me or not.and i don't bloody care if there's college day actually.Just cheer all the way.in a rarely seen scene in AJC,even the most hardened of mugger classes have pledged their allegiance to the blue-and-yellow of AJC by sending their mercernaries to assist the Council, and my hunch is that a 1000 man army will obliterate everything in front of them, just like the volleyballers do..ALLEZ AJ!!!

Braveheart Anderson-Forever and Ever

people can act irrationally when they get skewed by all the hype.not that we support playing truant or taking illegal flight.crap it...it's treasure island that we're talking about

TJ 34 AJ 47-now for the final, which is HC.towards the end Lebron Marcus tried to rally back from 20 something down but it seemed too little too late....yayayayay

so what's on is that our performance isn't quite good quantitatively, with only 2 finals this time, but it sure beats qualitatively because we have some solid honour...TJ is getting on us again,so let's see what's next for RJ-SA rugby.with RJ beating up NY 81-0,and SA scraping through AC(surprise surprise).this time round AC don't have much luck, cuz RJ and HC are doing a duopoly.

Braveheart Anderson-Battle Call

TEAM ANDERSON.FOUNDED 1984.1984 STRONG

new tagline...and no surprise who the hell I ripped that from.Team Singapore...might have to pay royalties...another anthem...sounds our intentions...but we actually have to do a covercopy

(Orginal Version)
You know I feel there's something 'bout to break now,
You know I feel there's a city here to take now.
And it's not so tough for these ordinary hands,
When we trust someone with extraordinary plans.
You know I feel this heart's about to break now,
Cos I can see what the devil's trying to take now.
We've got this leather backed book and a freedom cry,
And we're an army of God who are ready to die.
You give us hope where hope is gone,
You fill the streets with a holy song,
We’re gonna paint this big old town red.
Oh, Here we come, here we come
Oh, Here we come, here we come
You know I feel this sky's about to break now.
You know I feel our city's gonna shake now.
And we hear you call every woman and man,"Ring the mission bell" and storm the gates of hell.
Miracles run from street to street,
Rise up Church for a holy meet,
We’re gonna paint this big old town red
We’re gonna paint this big old town red
With the blood of Jesus!

(AJ cover copy version)

When we trust someone with extraordinary plans.
You know I feel this heart's about to break now,
Cos I can see what the devil's trying to take now.
We've got this leather clad ball and a freedom cry,
And we're an army of blue who are ready to cheer.

You know I feel this sky's about to break now.
You know I feel our city's gonna shake now.
And we hear you call every AJCian,"Ring the mission bell" and storm Toa Payoh Sports Hall.
Miracles run from street to street,
Rise up AJ for the grand final,
We’re gonna paint this big old town blue

安域夜韵

CO concert.actually I prefer this to RJ concert, just a prob.the programme's entirely in chinese!and they seem to get their definitions ALL wrong...so how?blog in chinese...i damn showoff la

骏马奔腾- the recurring theme is horses.what happens as such is that it's a sterling start to the night

山丹丹开花红艳艳 -more mellow but still as grandiose

秋湖月夜 -your equivalent of a poem,in song.just that it's a noisy night, not a quiet night i'd have imagined.at least the flutist would have made a passable substitute for rit.he's one of a kind...and by way of the flute solo, they ended up throwing a mantle on the wispy sound of the flute

伊犁风情 -granted i'm transported to xinjiang where that unmistakable uygur tune makes for something boppy

草原骑兵 -more soldiers, more horses.the sheng/portable pipe organs has this nasal quality that is quite refreshing

打枣 -nicodemus classmate wows everyone with a suona/bugle,detachable horn and his mouth.end of story...the rare times the audience clapped while a performance is still on...a big no-no actually but who cares?

查尔达斯舞曲 -instead of a hot-blooded hungarian gypsy tune it's something super delicate.the guys from china did this

龙腾虎跃 -rapid percussion rocks too...the guy on the big drum looks extremely cool, like your manga

北方民族生活素描 -that's 4 movements.horses again and they go classy.the first is majestic...i know i'm obsessed with horses.the second sounds more expansive concerto.the third is more or less a cleanser with stringy tunes, last one roxx, just like running amok with your hunt

梅花新调 -the beijing guests come up with...not surprisingly beijing opera tunes.

娄山关 -not your classic opera, but this operetta on stage must have wowed everyone

长城随想曲 -i'd have ran scot free with the concerto, but it's a bit downtempo except till the end

无人知晓的安可-now it's going somewhere else...but it's damn nice...

5th anniversary of the greatest joke in the world

this surely is a classic

no importa la distancia, nombre y hombre

i'm getting frayed

Morning:basketballers did their own propaganda...nice one, just that triple sci ppl are damn hard to convince

afternoon:HC's talk...never expected to see Zanetta which Gary and co has been crapping about...or was it that famous one

Night:forced to eat Carl's Jr takeaway during the break...juicy even when cold.here's the repertoire

Blessing Glory and Wisdom-JS Bach
I got a rude shock when I found out it wasn't anything serious, least of all in english.doesn't sound like Bach, but short sharp and sweet, quite unlike your normal orchestra piece

Gaude Maria-Antonio Lotti
the provenance is such that it's late Baroque because it didn't sound quite like that time...serious

Justorium Animae-Sir Charles Stanford
slower paced, compared to the last one i'd rather have that melancholiness

29 Zsoltar/Psalm 29-Tamas Panczel

In english...

1Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength.
2Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
3The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters.
4The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.
5The voice of the LORD breaketh the cedars; yea, the LORD breaketh the cedars of Lebanon.
6He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.
7The voice of the LORD divideth the flames of fire.
8The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.
9The voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory.
10The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever.
11The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.

I'm Joszef Király from Budapest...no leh that was my alias.it's damn dramatic,i tell you even if i dun quite understand hungarian

De Circuitu Aeterno-Petr Eben
modern sacred music didn't quite sound that way,but it's still an eternal routine after all in choirs around the world

Shima-e-Toru Takemitsu
i love ballads.can they have more?it's beautiful by the way,one of my favorites

Karimatanu Kuicha-Ko Matsushita
now that's pretty, banging around as if it wasn't a folk song, but more like cheer support.teehee...nice anyway

Binnamma/Lluvia Larga-Alberto Grau
Caracas meet Catalonia.I'd suppose I got a rude shock when they rained down

No Importa la Distancia-hecho en Espana
los 3 amigos acting as bass works well this time

If We Hold On Together-suppossedly Diana Ross
another of my favorites.I luv u

The Promised Land-FF VII
I'm not a final fantasy fan.but then they lovingly had a video presentation...in the virtual darkness.quite ok

1000 Words-FF X-2
slower and more lovely, just a bit too hard to understand

FFX Medley

Amigo Para Sempre

Braveheart Anderson--Return of the King

finally it's the stuff we've been waiting for...it's the Volleyball FINALS against TJ

Shengli and Chun Kiat+Kuekkie,Sandy,Lebron and blablabla CCHSM ppl
vs
Esmond,HongYi,Jus,WM and all my chums
TJ had VJ pawned convincingly 3-0 in an eastern derby while HC was en route to the girls final after turning the tables on the Saints from 2-0 down.and we won 25-11,32-30,25-14...about the second set...this was the finest ever seen by AJ
trailing from the start, they always go one down before pulling back equally...but towards 22-19 they seem to be losing the plot...until 3 timeouts in the space of 10 minutes meant it's penalty shootout with 24-24...this time round we showed great spirit in turning the tables before a delirious crowd cheered at 32-30...what an epic.by then NY's spirit was broken and they only managed to trail in the third set w/o really recovering
in fact if you see the AJ flag eternally flying around, you'd want to know who's on it...beacuse it's always a moving sight to see that dude waving the flag even as he was tired or his team is down...now that's what a real Ultra is

Braveheart Anderson: Bittersweet

It's all over...for the girls

Basketball:won their last one and brought closure to their season which they hoped it would be fruitful enough.guys won VJ after much work and we're playing TJ next...who lost to those HC b*******.it's a better hobson's choice out of two as i would have wished to see marcus lebron and the guys in the final...but then I think we have bigger vendettas against perennial screwers HCB

Netball:ask the girls yourself at your own risk

Volleyball:ahhhhhhhh NY next!TJ next up if we win,I want to be a mad Italian hooligan next week...

RJCO,音+心=意--CO Concert

hell chasing my Braveheart Anderson makes me quite tired, having to run around everytime...so I'll outline to you what's up in the NEXT 2 WEEKS OF HELL!

Mon:basketball(passed and we won!)
Tue:volleyball semis.now or never for the J2s...and not just the ballers, but the whole level, because this is their last chance to yell themselves hoarse in Toa Payoh...AJ ROX!
Wed:transport symposium at VJ...that one confirm go...esp where i've a arms deal in the form of symphony of voices tickets
Thu:afternoon:kishore's talk at HCI followed by AJ choir concert at night
Fri:real mugging first, then AJCO concert for this public holiday
Sat:UNAS seminar for history stuff, which unfortunately is a whole day thingy in a fortunate area of Tanglin
Sun:Sabbath,literally

Mon:Basketball semis:might have to stage a false kidnapping if deal falls through
Tue:Symphony of Voices!
Wed:allegedly this is volleyball finals...if we get this far
Thu:if hockey are in semis, this might be their day...or else it's mug
Fri:basketball finals...planned victory parade
Sat:victory parade

to kick off hell week, here's Sunday's repertoire for RJCO,a entity which's my first visit...with a few SCO members on tow, would you deny their quality?

新世纪音乐会序曲/Overture for new century concert
it's rattling golden snake given a highly unusual treatment of shearing, stretching and slashing.who cares if it's good...one of a tangy piece to start the night

秦兵马俑幻想曲第一乐章/Fantasia Terra Cotta Part 1 of 3
the problem is,I wished they played the 2 other movements together and leave it at the last, but it's damn great...like the Qin empire condensed into 10 minutes of unadulterated magic

山西调/Shanxi folksong
The guzheng(古筝) gang loads you up with a ballady one, soft and delicately stringy, unlike the heft of most complete CO pieces

安魂曲/Requiem
some CO members are actually classically trained,in the Western style...just to show off their basses and the uni-versa(ti)lity of CO,a downtempo piece

草原小姐妹/Little Sisters on the Priarie
I bet the lady on the pipa(琵琶) didn't get stage fright when it's just her on stage.yeah RJ are half professional enough for such a thing,so what's next was a melodious,if quite draggy piece

秦王点兵/attack song
the 25 Rafflesians from the 3 R kings look like your upmarket version of CCHS(Yishun) 24 solstice drums...you know their famous ones.rousing and another personal favourite

第一二胡幻想曲/Erhu Rhapsody No 1
playing around with the erhu and robed by the accompanying concerto, the erhu soloist just gave everyone a lesson on how 2 strings can work wonders

雨后庭院/Garden after Rain
the stringers have a melodious sound, just that it didn't make me think of a rain had just passed

战马奔腾/Galloping War Horses
so it's the erhu gang again.i'm more into upbeat ones that allows freedom of expression

侗乡速写/Dong Village Suite
now I'm getting bored but then last piece was just the tonic needed to end the night

拉德茨基进行曲巧遇莱初华乐/Radetzky March meets Raffles Masters
for their encore they have this classic by Johann Strauss making him look as if he came from Vienna to Beijing.creative take

Braveheart Anderson,diversions

AJ 1 RJ 0-Yen Hao scores again and we get out on a high.whatever the case it was the end of the road for the Gryphons now that they were sent back to Bishan with an MJ match left in a bank truck.MJ screwed AC 5-2 and cruise through on a near perfect record, and so the eagles went home in a hearse

Volleyball and basketball:spare a thought for the girls.both got dumped out after losing 2 straight matches.guys?it's the inverse as they are now in the semis, away from the toughest of opposition.by virtue of playing them in the quarters, volleyball TJ-AJ was a preview to the final even if TJ won convincingly 2-0.as for basketball, things can get complicated as a win in their last game would most likely pit them against HC,which I would personally prefer as I don't want to meet Marcus until the finals...don't tell him i owe him $35

Netball:least of all I'd expect a draw.34-34 against SA means TJ became something serious.HC whacked TJ 61-28 and so they need to gamble

Hockey:girls still in it after drawing 0-0 with MI.6-0 with RJ is nothing much,actually...a second is needed actually...but things can be negative after MI and RJ drew 0-0.boys...out they went,1 win and the rest losses render most efforts void

ahhhhhhhhh...stagefright!

Wednesday, May 03, 2006

Bleu et Jaune,Giallazzurri,Blau und Gelb,Azulamarillo,Blauw en Geel

whatever language they may mean,it's still AJ's world...but something isn't quite right here...as I confess

Netball:won by 3 pts against NJ.to think they bragged about bashing us up...but both of us would have became scared cats would would be whimpering when RJ and HC and all your usual suspects come knocking
Volleyball:Girls lost 2 in a row and are out of the tournament.Guys won 2 in a row and are on course for another final, with or without TJ on tow
Hockey:guys lost last min.girls waiting for updates
Basketball:a bad start for the next round for the girls, lost 3-1.guys...innova nearly fought back if not for the 40-55 score that somehow turned into 48
Soccer:last match and for pride's sake.down but not out...we won't be easy prey for RJ's griffons
Wushu:my old kakis who are now in VJ swept the golds on the table, which results in an oligopoly when we interfered by having Masa win a gold for himself.Yumi might have been wondering was she the only Japanese inside the hall.my beloved CCHSM is still at it once again

Green Eagle

yay my 18th bdae...and now legal for M18 movies, alcohol, clubbing, whatever but vote and now a "paid-up" fan of FTC,or Ferencvaros.since I've quite an affinity for Budapest, somewhere which I'd love to settle down if I burnt out in the CBD,I'd love to assume the new id of Kiraly József and settle in Hungary...which's quite a beautiful place

Of course being a new Ferencvaros fan,the best way to be caught on this day is to be seen watchin a FTC match and eagerly waiting for them to win,esp Ujpest or MTK.I love this place big time,so just clean up and let's get going

May Day

mayday mayday...when you're in crisis...and 3 days to my bdae...aaahhh

Friday:AJ IDOL!!!Last year it was J2 vs J1,then now it's Sci(PFCME) vs Arts(History) for the bands.didn't got the redemption as wanted as extasy just got too high.wished i was watchin some other drama nite at somewhere else...but the stunning sheila as emcee+house captain+runner+cheerleader+... just about compensated any opportunity cost

Saturday:AJ Dance performance...not helped by the fact that Hui Kia was at the other end.grossly understaffed expect for the scholars, which i dun expect to see at all...at least this year's scholars are more enthu than last year's...it'd have been impossible to list out this year's repertoire, but then they're stunning...if for/not for the fact they have so much eyeshadow that they look virtually indistinguishable

Sunday:dad on vacation,so stayed until so late...absolutely addicted to hattrick.org...will update next time...yawn
