whatever the case being a DOTA noob is a very hard life indeed.there are some ways you can learn how to play DOTA

1)join a clan.clans vary,but often charge membership fees.better for multiplayer
2)play on public servers.you need a good know how on IT,and be prepared to take a long time to master DOTA
3)don't play.that's for hopeless noobs
