A conversation with the Minister for Community Development,Youth and Sports during the reception after Youth Avenue's opening on 24/03/2006.The only AJCian there.too bad there's family day on 22/04/06 so couldn't make it to Youth Avenue. But that was a rare shot with a minister.Youths, get the cue...be more proactive in politics.and what else to start with than be concerned with matters pertaining youths

Youth Avenue and the minister

Youths in Singapore are damn fortunate, and I don't mean only having material needs fulfilled to a large extent. They also have a government who's willing to listen to them.actually Youth Avenue is something that would be an example for further bridging of gap between JC,Poly and ITE ppl

background check 1:JC:there are 2 worlds.top 5,AC,AJ and SA have a world unto themselves.er actually it's the latter 3 circling as comets.the rest are in another orbit
Poly:5 'continents' in a single 'world'
ITE:another world.this time round it's distant to the JC orbit

background check 2:Youth Avenue are concieved by some RJC Pre-U-Sem participants(fyi,PUS is some super prestigious thingy that normal mortals in JC don't get a grand chance, not even if your dad is some minister.entry's by nomination only).Poly and ITE do have their own forum.but having these 3 coming together for some groundbreaking thingy is something unpredecented in our stratified society

well...if you want to do such a thing,do it well.hands on,minds on,hearts on.even if you crash the opening ceremony at RJC(this is becuz dear old AJC didn't send anyone.they all had Delta shite). In fact I used to be as narrow-minded as most JC students, but the presentation of the ITE councillor just made me rethink how important is the cohesion.the segregation is such that some JC students think that poly and ITE students are inferior.but that's based on how you define success.luckily someone had the initative to start the ball rolling(although it should be done long ago),it's better late than never.in fact that's another segment of our war against terrorism.because unhappy youths are actually responsible for all the hardship in the world,be it thru ethnic cleansing(Rwanda and Slobo),riots(Paris) or bombs(London and Madrid).the first thing to help youths is to polish and ensure coherence between different type of talents.

looks like the ability to be able to interact well with different groups are key to being an MP.even if you're an IP student or a straight A king from Raffles.but let's not forget the bottom strata who would be the most frustrated and forgotten.as always the government would do well to assist in student initiated projects promoting cohesion,as is expected of youths(i mean the latter)

actually the q&a session's quite a nice one to watch, especially with a minister.particularly about gaps to bridge with SAP students, madrasahs and all the mission schools...offers an insight other than JC,Poly,ITE...and more importantly, between students of differing streams(i.e:start early).that's because in most schools(those with normal stream) express stream students tacitly tolerate normal stream people(from a few ITE people they said they were disadvantaged when they wanna stand for council) and SAP schools, and the brand names all are in another world...and hardly interacts with neighbourhood school students, let alone show any empathy

finally,to end this off...i didn't expect to see germ 2 and geri.in fact geri was the one i remembered more from rmun...good to see them and holla

at the end RJC and ITE students got to talk to Vivian Balakrishnan,Minister for Community,Youth and Sports during the reception, and I got into the act too.even got to take a photo with him.I shall post it in here later,to let all shellshocked AJCians see.My sis allegedly calls him the most handsome Cabinet Minister right now.and who would wanna pass up a rare chance of getting a signature of a Cabinet Minister

to all JC students:mugging is no excuse for not taking time out to show concern to people of different education background

Muse by ACJC and AJC 0 Innova 0(IJC 6-5 pens)

how not to start your new concert season

1)forget about your ticket,or your date for that matter.passed this test
2)be late.or nearly late.forced to take a taxi
3)giggle.you can piss a few atas idiots off

morning:sianz
afternoon:wad the hell is the CCA carnival for when you have all the J1s looking bemused and still dunno wad to decide
evening:football.our AJ heroes fell on penalties,haiz =(
night:AC Band concert.back at it again, for this concert season

somehow they have a penchant for grande complications this time round.that means stuff with more than 2 movements(you weren't supposed to clap when they pause),highly sophisticated arrangements that demand absolute concentration(and a bit of humour as well just to prevent one from going insane from all the intensity) and they are much more assured given that they are going to Sydney for their big night in June .This is my art magazine editor take on Muse 2006, traditionally the first event of the Concert Season and one of the most prestigious ones

Chinese Spring Overture by Lee Huan Chi-brings me back memories of the long past chinese new year.kinda the sort which you'd play during CNY concerts in school

Second Suite for Band by Alfred Reed-this one was surprisingly confusing, not because of the complicated arrangement, but the part where there were 4 separate pieces that might actually seem unrelated.but that's your contrasting subject if you so wish to say, because it alternates between the delicate and the heavy handed, and this actually served as the bridge for all the even more weighty stuff ahead,as would be outlined later

Fantasy Variations by (NOT James Barnes)-okok,Matt the MC kinda told me the supposedly correct composer(an Italian violinist) but apart from that it's a very light-heavy weight because of it's light airy feeling when you listen to such feel good tunes.beautifully balanced and ends with a flourish

Turandot by Giacomo Puccini-I missed the opera some years back, but it kinda paid back by this dramatic opera piece.tells the fairy tale story of the princess who beheads suitors unworthy of her riddles before some brave soul shows up and clinches it.I particularly like the harp(what a rare appearance =)) and the dramatic celebratory finale.this is what music is for in the first place

Make A Joyful Noise by James Swearingen as interpreted by ACSBR SB-okok that's just about the only piece this band was going to play before the break.we kinda need a breather after the beautiful Turandot, and we got it with something vibrant.not so much a concert piece, but at least it was also allows one to break out into a smile in the atas atmo of esplanade

(the following in blue is what the ACSI SB played)

National Emblem by E.E. Baglui-your typical millitary band march,as interpreted by a concert band

Lawrence of Arabia by Maurice Jarre-I love the rousing start with the heavy percussion that reminds one of a desert atmosphere.other than that,if there were anything a tad disappointing, this is it.it didn't take long to realise that they didn't factor T.E Lawrence's extraordinary life in the desert during WWI until towards the end.if I should say anything, that would have done with more gusto

English Folk Song Suite/Sea Songs by Vaughan Williams-the navy has a richer song tradition than the Army.where the land troops can play mostly marches but nothing much in the olden times,it's the sailors that actually entertain more with all their rousing(and sometimes rowdy) songs.and they are more imaginative.hence the part where they have the 1st 2 movements 2 folk songs in their own right, and 3 of them squeezed into the third.oh too bad the Royal Navy don't really play that anymore, but with such good renditions by the AC Band, they still live on on the land

Emperata Overture by Claude Smith-before their seniors return, the ACSI Band decide to give this parting gift.actually it seemed like a corruption of imperator,so it was quite surprising that it was another majestic piece in its own right

First Suite in EB for Millitary Band(s) by Gustav Holst-no holds barred.actually that sounded as if it was more for a concert piece than for any SYF millitary band central judging thingy.but who cares given that it was quite a well orchestrated piece that delicately fuses into a pretty symphony

1812 Overture by Pete Tchaikovsky-this is the showpiece of the night.the solemn start is a bit understated, but towards the middle, things start to perk up,not least a rendition of L'Marseillaise(the French anthem).to end the night on a high, the cannons by the big bass drums give way to a grand cacophony of song, joy and church bells.the bells finale is a the best way to end the night off with a great bang!

updates on the konzerthaus kalender

RJ Band:heard it's tomorrow(and today).I might have to give it a miss
VJ Band:I might miss that too
RJ CO:Sunday 7/5.lovely Sunday evening out, apart from that it'd be an eyeopener having not seen them play previously
VJ Choir:I'll need Rachie's confirmation before buying.but from their trend, they traditionally have Choir Tuesday in May(2nd week)..haha interesting but the only problem is the $42 ticket yet again.looks like I'd be teased again by PooH ;)
AJ Choir:11/5.a public holiday eve to be exact.I shall oblige by promoting that around
AJ Band:they're flying solo this time on 30/5.let's crash the party folks
AC Choir:confirm muz go one.but the Monday date may prove to ba an obstacle yet again
HC Band/Choir:EH JOCE!!!where's the updates?
TJ Band:Shortie will take care of that.hope she didn't forget me yet
NJ Band/Choir/malarkey:okok I'm not quite impressed by their performing arts.maybe I shall plant money for their 20/5 funfair instead
SA Dance/whatever:I need a bit of help here

Lian Po.Pride of CCHSM and A Level Blues

A level results are out.like what Mr Yue used to say,Today I'm proud of CCHSM,tomorrow CCHSM is proud of me.I wasn't joking, but he sure had the last laugh, where my senior in VJ is concerned.9 A1s 2 years ago,9 As right now and we weren't joking

HOW TO GET A 'PERFECT SCORE'--THE 4-3-2-1 FORMULA(Do not try in anywhere other than RJC,VJC,ACJC and HCI)

4 A Level subjects distinctions-I mean, quite well done.7X/100 just doesn't cut it.and you will need consistency.you don't fail more than once, and striking As for most of your tests and most importantly your prelims is kinda obligatory for such wannabes

3 S Papers-apparently you need to get permission from MOE.Most people does 2,but 3 is never allowed unless some form of endorsement is given by the Principal, and it's a next to nothing chance that your principal is willing to risk you become a guinea pig

2 AO A1s-I mean GP and MT-AO.MT is easy to do,but GP is a tough balancing act to follow.and I'm not kidding! Many do stumble at GP and in AJC this has been a bane.no wait...on second thought i shoulda extend it to the rest of the JCs

1 highly focused, exemplary individual who can juggle skilfully in and out of their notes and tutorials, and also be a boon to society and to school.bringing glory to school notwithstanding, punching more than your weight is a must

Disclaimer:we'll not be responsible for any insanity or mental cockouts if anywhere dares to try this sort of stunt even though such an advice applys to all the JC cohort right out there.you might take a leaf out of theirs and try your darndest best to emulate them

Ms Leong is happy with everything but GP and Geog.Geog because that's her pet subject, and GP because it's the main fodder to university.Really,I find that more and more of most youths are struggling with their GP.I'd have guaranteed you that many a time a 6 in GP have marred otherwise perfect sceneries.at least being from a good school is better as you are marginally better prep for GP.most neighbourhood schools prefer their charges to go poly,so they are stretched thin

Whatever those J1s are getting their postings soon.I hope my sis goes to TJC LEP and regain some pride.maybe she wants to go MJC,but I think she should have been better than me.

Sat:I kinda love town restaurant at the fullerton.kinda odd that there's no beef.but seafood are an abundance, and I love their oysters...too bad I can't eat their chocolate buffet at the courtyard!hehe I hope to end up in the Line next.

Torino Redux and Sheila/Ci/Yangz powerpack

7h ago:the other gang were at fuji ice palace just now, going brrrrrrr....yes we skated, much against my mum,who was convinced that skating would cost an arm and a leg, literally(bruises and fractures included)...it's so slippery some guys swore they dun wanna come back here ever again.lol

26h ago:to shit that off, yesterday was 'drama nite'...oh wait, actually Interhouse Drama.yay Puma won, with a turbo pump ensemble of Sheila and Ci and Yangz(if you bring the house captain in,compared with the threadbare squads of the rest, you know what's in store)funny sial

Thu:never enjoyed PE before.Alex sucks.and there's little diff between HOD and Andy

next:

more concert splurging.we dun mean any one.

8/3:ACJC band.used to be in late mar,but they kinda shifted the date,to my delight
April:teowww stringhold

star struck

I didn't expect to be so lucky seeing SO MANY celebrities during the past 2 days...out of the imagination lah.even the most hardened groupies don't usually see their idols, but then I'm so lucky.

AC Fun-O-Rama(Sat Afternoon):Kelvin tipped me off with regards to AC alumnus Adrian Pang(first artiste to cross over from the short lived MediaWorks). He's quite a hunk actually, and very nice
Raffles City(Sat Evening):saw Edmund Chen and Xiang Yun.got their autographs as well.miracle that I still recognise them even if I don't watch their shows often.
Sun-day:literally a sun-ny day where I saw Sun Ho at CHC.her CD's coming up in Aug 06.(just for laughs, here's what Wini says about her)

Ya ha but I dun really like her. She's from AHS what(I tricked her to saying that). She came for some school concert last year(back in 2004)

Matt's scoop:Some minister's daughter is in ACJC.Drama Club VP.AC ppl call her N** B***.If you don't want to get into trouble,DO NOT TELL ANYBODY OUTSIDE ACJC!This is insider info and I put my life at stake to give that to you

AC Funorama

this will be the last time I splurge obscene amounts on a school fun fair.

2003:CCHSM funfair.by some means and crap I managed to acquire $110 of tickets.slacked off the whole day as I happily enjoyed

2006:Carmen,Val's classmate,Teowww gang member and Willy's fren got freebies at my expense.and if spending quite a bomb to dunk the principal with a ball isn't bad,I had to miss out on kenny rogers and pasta fresca because they are so ex!but somehow I could find a surprisingly large amount of AJCians and my ACJC frens, and it's official:Jes and Xiang Long are broke.ultimate surprise:the whole gang of ACJC ppl who went to my sch to sell tickets still recognised their major bankroller.

strategy to survive in a funfair w/o getting broke too early

1.survey the stalls.check out quality stuff,or cheap enough and nice.look for frens as well.they might give you a few perks if not discounts

2.don't try to gorge all the food from all the stalls.not even if you're famous.that means choose carefully what you should eat.that ensures you don't have to rush to the toilet after you return home when you eat conflicting stuff.your doc or sinseh or even your dad will merely shake his head and say it's your own doing

3.when satiated, try out the games.DO NOT be tempted to go to any haunted houses at the moment.apart from puking out all your stuff, there're LONG winding queues.you might have to wait for hours before you finally get inside, particularly those without apparent queues.they have the longest waiting lists of them all

4.apparently it's very hard to win the top prize of each game,so don't try all the games.only try those you've maximum confidence in.note that game masters have tricks up their sleeve that will ensure they don't pay out max

5.If you're running low on money, don't recklessly hedge bets on the dunking stations.top brass of a school would ask for artificially high ransoms before they get dunked.the host will try to charge crazy charges for each ball,so only add bets if you're rich(like the teachers do),and be prepared to be watched by a large crowd

6.when tired,go sit on the terraces, talk to your friends and watch the rest struggling to spend their money or actually splurge their money

7.shopping can be quite ex.ACJC has a grocery store among other things.ex enough to skip.if they have other memorabilla, only buy if you really love the school, and you either belong to the school or you have some regrets after JAE.if you're ambivalent,i recommend you skip that too

8.leave the haunted houses last.you get freaked out more...especially the last shift.they would come out in full force.and don't forget to scream!AHHHHHHH........

9.you can't survive with just one ticket(honestly there're trumped up prices).neither do I recommend splurging like teachers do and buy dozens of tickets(unless your dad's an industrialist or big donor).$100 would work well ideally, but you might get away with at least $30

10.fun fairs are energy sapping, even for consumers.drink LOTS of water, and be careful of your wallets because you will soon find that you will be tempted to buy some more coupons when you bust your credit limit

Craig Lockhart Hospital(LT1):Samz was there.she doesn't really recognise me nowadays, but when she does,at least it's long lost frens now.remained stoic throughout even when the 8 at the back got freaked out by 'mental patients'.the tour guide was one talkative dude, and you think that's scary?the ghosts look morre like morons freaky rating:3* out of 5*

?(LT2):Wini went there and I know nothing freaky rating:no comment

Drama(LT6):apparently some people said it's the most scariest, and even a few had paid againjust to freak out twice.quite good but I don't know.it's chinese opera,so it won't be freaky to sap sch ppl

Rose Mansion/Pavillion(LT5):last stop before I left.since a gang of girls and just a few guys were the last people to go in,they get freaky.you get lulled into complacency by a few courtesans, then it just gets more and more freaky, all with a chinese twist, altar included(added a few orchids just in case.a wrong move as I got freaked out later).they can be quite full frontal,so there's little you can do if (horrors of horrors) you get freaked out.and it seems like the tour guide there looks very amused while the rest all get freaked out to various degrees.AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! freaky rating:4* out of 5*

So returning from there,AJC can learn a few lessons on how to raise money.we don't mean the large wads of notes AC handles all the time.you need many stalls(each class are supposed to have one food and one games stall each),and slick promoting...aaaahhhhhh I'm bankrupt!

Valentine's blues

this is Valentine's.being a guy grants you many privileges.this is what happens in the Middle East.but being a guy also means you've to be responsible for a lot of stuff to your girl/woman.working for your keep and your family's survival is one.then serving in NS too.the Goverment has raised penalties and stiffened rules where dodging draft is concerned, and have placed better family laws that encourages happier and bigger families.then there's Valentine's/aka Friendship Day to us students. If u're a thrifty guy, this is the only time you part with your cherished money.if you're as bigshot as the Saudi King,or Donald or as rich as Roman or Mikhail,it's time for you to lavish gifts on your girl and/or friends.yeah but Valetnine's a big and expensive business, particularly for consumers =(

ok the strafing part happens now

weeks in advance:3505,Val and 2 ppl who i shall not reveal gets arrowed for dedications and roses and everything nice.Val kinda knew about that, but successfully kept that from the two unknowns

Day before tomorrow:mad rush.if getting the guys at choir to change slot is not enough, going on a whirlwind trip to shop gets much worse if you don't want to buy cliched stuff.opted for chocolates at Sins Centrepoint since Godiva was horribly ex and Neuhaus' prices are just as scary as their Belgian cousins.

the 2 boxes had Grand Cru truffles, dark ganaches and something called pick-up-line that has gold lines drawn on the top and XO Cognac inside(knockout punch).Wenz had Baileys(apparently that was milk chocolate with a ganache spiked with Baileys Irish Cream inside) and Leens had a heart shape(still booze.wine n peach next).yeah you sinner, teetotaller's nightmare, thinking they won't get drunk(Wenz would, cuz she'd be sinning by eating in class, boozing before 18 and have a sticky mouth)...hahaha that's an evil plot =) and apparently after 5-7 h they have to be kept in the fridge for up to 3 months.lucky it was just a nip back home and hehe sis, envious?

and speaking of which,AC ppl are damn enterprising.they actually bothered to go to AJC to sell their fun-o-rama tix(btw I'm off for Sat).if blowing $20 on Wenz and Leens' truffles aren't enough,$30 for the ACJC performance theatre looks like a big donation outside ACJC's students.in fact they were begging me to buy ticket no 3,which set me back by a deal.so guilty,I decided to give Malcolm Teowww a ticket.Navin teowww and JJ teowww all also want.then share lor.just a thing.many aj ppl think ac is a money launderer or money eater.yeah Matt I'd love some extras

V DAY(or D Day for guys):apparently waiting for Wenz to be inside the bus didn't work.that's better cuz i tend to show the horse leg(if you play chinese chess you know what that means).then the pretty nerd had her hair tied, just like Leens.Poor Wene was like, searching high and low for the two people who were meant to get roses,so that was first blood.but i kinda bungled the delivery part where those Sins are concerned.Wenz was first, and it went straight on her hands.Leens then got the one with the gold ribbon, but not before the class locked the delivery man outside and Wenz could read my mind.then I was forced to tell Leens that there were chocolates for her inside.if you think strafing the airfield isn't bad enough, the choir later showed up and serenaded them.just to add insult to injury, they apparently used some probability formula to say that I was the only one capable of such a thing...ooh romantic.

1015.the class civics.i didn't expect someone from mdm ng's form class last time(32/04) to show up.and to put it that way, this was a last minute change.that impromptu speech took quite long and as always alot of noise.but the song was sheer magic.that was the only time where there's good support, cuz i doubt the rest would have anyone other than their classmates showing up

oh yeah Wini is up next for a surprise(this means more potent truffles.too bad prestat was out as it's $25).she says she will meet me at 5plus or 6 last night, but then she said she go suntec then orchard at 5 plus and then these are the people I met from Citylink to Orchard during the 3h odyssey that elapsed:

Markus and zhitong's classmate.Melvin and Lindsey.cass, junyi and jee.gary the sexy beast and raine, someone from 3205.elson and 2 ajc ppl who i dunno.another ajc guy who said teowww(obviously one of my teowww brothers taught him that).von.meryl.the farmer.zhihui(ask gary)

Wini's chocolate selections:blew my cash at Godiva's.2 comtesses(dark choc),2 azteques(dark ganache),raisin fine champagne n cerise kirsch n truffe rhum(quite disappointed there were no cognac or dark truffles =( and Sins only had the liquid champagne centre one, none of the ones I bought for Leens or Wenz.and there's a long queue at Royce and nothing at Neuhaus =().perfectly weighs 99g,rounded to 100.$20.50.boozed for 5 of them.and quite ex

waited for her in the starry night and noise of cine for 55mins.Princess Wini struts in with 4 bodyguards and waited for her to show up.of her bodyguards i didn't expect anyone to know me offhand,so they just waited for her while i approached her without my usual swagger. The last thing I'd expect was one of her bodyguards to actually remember how I'd looked like and actually waved at me.met up with her again and becuz there's a long queue for neoprints, the neoprint offer didn't work,or i'll produce living evidence that she's more cuter and elegant than a 6 year old.put it simply, she was thankful for the presents, but she just kinda felt bad about me buying stuff for her.lol any significance would have been debatable.

but amid all the celebratory presents and back patting, poor Pak Tao seems to be missing out on all the fun.and yeah this is a damn crap story happening right outside your friend circle. If all the J2s are sharing presents,or at least trying their best to keep up on their spendings on presents, here's this kinda unfortunate guy who has no friends in J2,and no friends in J1(cuz he retain). If you see his forlorn figure in the canteen, eating all by himself, keeping to himself and looking as if he's got no one to talk to,and maybe pacing up and down the canteen(I sometimes do,but more like a stockbroker at NYSE),you know who i mean.

In fact no one knows his name, save for his ex 2X/05 class.to be sure of that, little is known about this lonely loser, except he didn't even take his promo after missing out on lesson for (you believe it) half a year.no body knows why he's absent for, nobody except himself knows his CCA,and absolutely no one has ever heard of him.so bad, even his class disowned him like a rag-doll.in fact, for all the troubles, some retainees do gravitate back to their old classes or cliques time and again.but this loner have no one to speak to,let alone mug with.slowly I got to know him and I really think he needs to see a psychiatrist(cuz i think he's suffering from depression,if not Aspergers or autism)

Q:you've got any friends in your former class or J2?
A:Jasper(his classmate.I asked him and he apparently told me dun bother with him)
Q:then do you've got any friends in J1?
A:yes
Q:do you talk to them often or it's just a few sentences(I mean, being cold to them)
A:(the latter)
Q:what do you come to AJC for?
A:study
Q:maybe you should consider poly
A:no
Q:you've got any other aims?
A:no

that's like...what the hell...this loser has no life.he has nothing to live for and nothing to cling on.his life revolves around only study and nothing else.even somebody that autistic or with asperger's might try to make himself known and heard, whether through his acts,or through what he says, however educated or retarded it may seem.even such a man could find a few good men to be with, even if he gets misunderstood(or even shut out,if things do get nasty).for which, whatever he does,it had any impact on the world, even if people do forget what he did.he can get laughed at or even scolded at,but once they break past his misunderstandings, they do appreciate him for what he done, even if it were just tacit or even reluctant approval.but that's way better than living a wretched existence, unknown, unheard, and with nothing to contribute.

that told, for a while, spare a bit of love this valentine's for the needy, and the world will be a better place

CNY

ok guys it's been a long long time since I've blogged, and whatever the case,HAPPY NEW YEAR!

hitched a screen with 22's kids and I not Stupid too...yeah quite a touching movie but seems a bit cliched enough.i wanna watch fearless, the jet li film which my bro watched(somewhat illegally cuz he juz had his 15th bdae and they just looked at his year on his ic and let him watch an nc16 movie).i dun believe that munich and jarhead all got m18 and lee ang's brokeback mountain at r21.it kinda seems that all the crap stuff are cut and rated pg just for the sake of cash

on the big friday it's damned lessons.yeah who's crazy idea was that?whatever there were some really luckless chaps who had no breaks till 1015 and beyond.the concert was okay la,with the absence of the choir.if you think they're bad enough,CJC has it worse cuz they had lessons right until their normal timetables...ahhhhh.so that meant going back to cchsm is never an option cuz it was deserted except for me,val, cas and chris who was sleeping in the wushu room(and the long lost FG brothers).kinda reminded me of 28 days later the movie..aahhhh!

lol cny dinner yesterday wasn't quite a blast, but being fed on 3 types of booze and still standing means i'm quite better off.old grans' rice wine was so sweet and luscious i kinda shot down the chicken infused drink and then the champagne.i've to say that Laurent Perrier does make good champagne, but dun tell this to the cops cuz almost everyone in my family shared the magnum bottle, from the patriarch of the family,to the youngest kid(he's pri 3 btw).just about the only one who didn't drink was grandma, maybe becuz she's totally addicted to her homemade rice wine n prefers that to the premium french stuff.lucky my dad was sober enough to drive(but dun try this stunt next time.i truthfully dun wanna get caught by the expressway cops)

tasting notes
colour:golden
smell:a bit like hay, intense bouquet of chardonnay predominance
taste:apart from the initial prickiness,it's quite smooth, though not so fruity as expected
finish:long and continues for 15 mins.good considering that's my 1st sip of champagne in my life
quantity drunk:222ml.that's counted as illegal drinking

menu:
oysters in meat wrap:less peppery than last time.it's drenched in sauce,so truthfully i dun wanna waste champagne.
roast pork:crisp skin,yum!time for a riesling
steamed chicken:my bro would have fumed if he saw me taking both drumsticks and a wing.but it's juicy enough for an australian chardonnay
chicken in rice wine:the alcohol's good enough,so i shot them down.best of all all the alcohol's evaporated
steamed prawns:juicy and great,so a mosel works here
fat pork in soy:more riesling...but then it's a bit tough now cuz the sauce's so strong
abacus seeds:I'm a hakka,so they love to make this gummy and springy pieces.somehow i struggle to think of a wine to go with

conclusion:i'll get a German riesling from Bacchus next reunion dinner

oh yeah that kinda brings me to the end of my post.watchin die hard later just before i have my vegetarian breakfast,so off we go!

Saturday, January 14, 2006

think i'm gettin kinda quite mean this time.if I dun rip the j1s off sellin them the ACJC funorama tix(their funfair on 18th feb),i think i'll get them to hang around more with non-ogl j2s(i mean, the rest of the supposed muggers).looks like ACJC has an excess of funorama tix to sell, judging from what my frens there had to say,so I'm doing an ad on behalf for them.note that this action may not go down well in AJC

crash course for noobs(yay I'm a leet!)

who? ACJC Funorama
what? funfair lor.got games, normal funfair stuff
when? 18 feb (a sunny saturday.gonna soak up the sun from 9-18)
where? ACJC(duh!)
why (buy)? for fun, joy, laughter, since this will constitute as part of break time from mugging.apart from that there's also metro and long john silver vouchers for your spending pleasure...value for money lah

Borriquito and Best Denki fever.Pukka

jokes galore:compiled from 2 days of crapping

Dengue fever has a new mutant.it's the best denki fever.symptoms?craving for the electronic chain Best Denki(not a bad temptation after all.they've got good range of electronics)
Avian flu's symptoms include high fever,Bird flu's symptoms include being as ill as an infected bird.but Cock Flu's sypmtoms is the tendency to talk cock.(talkingcock.com is the mecca of all the talking of cock and the preservation of our Singlish heritage)

and of course, the Borriquito joke.this is the official version(rating pending for gore, coarse language and crap)

WARNING:SPOILER DETAILS FOLLOW

Borriquito:the mass dance of AJC.involves chicken actions, chionging around, acting hungry and shaking your bon bon(a la ricky martin) as you dance in a circle with your mateys.the music is damn corny actually
Mosquito:rhymes with the above.Aedes and Anopheles are the bastards responsible for a whole range of diseases

assuming you get bitten by a mosquito, and no matter how much the doctors try to save you,you die of dengue fever or malaria or whatever mosquito transmitted disease...the story didn't quite end here

you end up in Hell.you see a slack Admin personnel from CMPB(Central Mortuary Posting Bureau) who kinda looks as if he want to chao keng.you think...damn jia lat.and he is.he tells you to go to the Mosquito or Borriquito room...all in a monotone that sounds like shit

you end up in the room.another arsehole similar to the one you've just met now reads out whatever deeds you've done in your mortal life, whether you've sinned or not.it's remarkable they actually record your deeds.before you could deny anything,a judge passes a verdict

you're a sinner.so they damn sadist make you go to the mosquito room.wah piang eh,so many mosquitos.then they even more savage, make millions of mosquitos sting you at one go.you feel itchy, then you start scratching.

but not only you try to swat all the mosquitoes in vain, because they attack your whole body, when you try to scratch you end up tearing your meat out.

the most disgusting part is you get ill, then you get fever.it's hot as hell,so your brain chao tar liao(carbon).but then hor the hell guards more hong *** one.they cut your head a la hannibal, take out your brain, repair it(the above formula is a trade secret),and they put back and start the same old routine all over again

but if you're a good person, you end up in heaven.you see people dance Borriquito there.angels and virtuous people alike.they pause the music and see you're a noob.they invite you in and somehow you agreed.you slot in to the circle and they shout MUSIC PLEASE!the music starts all over again, and they dance damn fast one la

what happens is that Satan couldn't go to heaven to raid because he's allergic to halos.so he can only look for satan worshippers on earth.but then the mosquitoes in heaven are also afraid of noise,so they have to migrate down to earth.Satan gets bitten and he's forced to go back to hell, supplying more mosquitoes in the process...and the eternal loop goes on and on

Apologies for the long winded story

homemade booze part 2

1)cook rice
2)cool it
3)spread yeast and colouring underneath the 'barrel'
4)stack rice atop it
5)do the same thing twice
6)add enough water to make it look like some disgusting thick goo
7)top off with the 3 combo
8)shut it with a double cloth layer
9)weigh down with 2 leaves and a knife atop a wooden board(whatever pagan origins i dunno)
10)shut up

not for molotov cocktails, but it's too crude to be drunk like fine beers.got that from my gran

BN FOREVER

BN is the most havoc class in the history of CCHSM.no doubt about that they can even do alot of stuff in the chalet.

day 1:only 5 were on hand at tampines interchange.chalet looked like a penthouse(not a bungalow) and apart from a few ants and a quite dirty floor,it's kinda good.dinner:salmon steak and parma ham.all thanks to the microwave oven and stove.yeah it's back to the mahjong and cards of chalet life, particularly when you dun have much to do if you are concerned about walking down the road to changi village.cas, chris and ruben, smong others start filterin in.so 4 guys and 6 girls had the whole chalet to themselves, and spent a large part of the night gossipin until rain came down.dee king vs dee shit up next and i seem to be the guy who sleeps early, albeit at 0333 am on the first day.

day 2:woke up at 8.30,and with jean and the guys gone,i had the whole kitchen to myself while watchin music videos.my fave onion omelete and bread popped into the microwave oven beautifully started the day and then dee with the ladies left.afternoon got errand,so came back in the evening.barbecue went badly actually. If I were (Gordon) Ramsay I'd have let fly at the guys on the pit.put so much honey for what.and then with the exception of valerie and zhirui, the rest watched me flame the beef.grrr the striploin was gone case(it was too tough.thanks py for letting me know that) but was more successful with the ribeye.

more BBQ advice(the above may (not) be correct)
1:get a large fire going before cooking
2:save the honey for the last minute or so,or don't put at all
3:BBQ does not mean reheating stuff from the frozen foods section in the supermarket
4:don't overdo the margarine
5:Get a large enough grate to prevent food spillage

bum.then sian diaoz until later that night go old changi hospital!aaaahhhhh!it didn't help tt ruben was insulting a few ah bengs as they were walking out of the building.so scared of them and their sticks,we decided to sit down on the ground and wait until the coast is clear.mats are more helpful and less aggressive,I can admit.they even invited us to go up.but in the end it's only the 2nd floor.the 4th floor is reputed to be the most haunted.bang bang bang!!(doors opening and closing)

yawn as always they play until dawn when in the chalet.but they are better, because they didn't get drunk.looking forward to aloha next time round

p.s:costa sands east coast's closing! sob =(
